A CHURCH-RUN secondary school in Banz, Jiwaka, recently celebrated the opening of five new teachers’ houses, an official says.
Provincial education adviser (PEA) Dr Charly Muke said Banz Lutheran Secondary in North Waghi enrolled its first grade 11 class this year and had been the top performing high school in the province.
Muke acknowledged North Waghi MP Dr Fabian Pok for the funding support towards the construction of the new teachers’ houses which were fully furnished and ready to be occupied.
“As the PEA, I have come to notice this school’s high standard of academic performances over the years,” he said.
Muke said the transition from high to secondary school was a long process but Banz Lutheran was allowed to enrol its first grade 11 class this year because of its outstanding academic performances and results in recent years.
He thanked Pok for allocating K100,000 to the school’s administration for the completion of a duplex classroom.
Pok said education was important and that was why he was doing his best to support the school.
