GULF Komara trio David Hauka, Kila Numa and Ilagi Geno have been handed one-match bans and fined following their “violent and threating behaviour” during round 15 earlier this month.
“Following the match between Hekari United and Gulf Komara, the referee reported an incident which took place where violent and threating behaviour was directed at a match official,” the Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) said in statement yesterday.
Following the opening of disciplinary proceedings, PNGFA’s disciplinary committee assessed the match report.
The committee also viewed footage of the same incident and on the basis of the report and footage, a decision was made.
“Goalkeeper David Hauka ran past the 18-yard box to threaten and harass the referee while Geno and Numa used force by pushing the referee on his upper body,” PNGFA said. “As a result, the committee found Hauka, Numa and Geno to be in breach of PNGFA’s disciplinary code and code of ethics.
“Hauka is hereby suspended for one match and fined K1,000.
“Geno and Numa also face the same suspension but will pay a fine of K2,000 each.”
PNGFA said if the fines were not paid at the end of their suspensions, their bans would continue until they were paid in full.
