Gunemba, Dabinyaba to boost campaign

HEKARI United say new signings Raymond Gunemba and Nigel Dabinyaba will boost their campaign as they look to cut Vitiaz United’s lead at the top of the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League table.
Hekari and defending champions City – where the attacking pair last played – are two point adrift of the competitions rookies in third and second respectively, with eight matches left before the finals.
“Gunemba and Dabinyaba have settled in well with the rest of the players,” Hekari goalkeeper Ishmael Pole told The National yesterday.
“Most of us at Hekari have played alongside the pair in the national side, so we’re like family.
“They are also former Hekari players so it’s good to have them back.
“I can’t wait to play alongside them. They will certainly boost our attack.
“It’s exciting to have forwards like Gunemba and Dabinyaba who can make something out of nothing.
“Brothers Kolu and Ati Kepo have been solid for us up front and now with the pair’s inclusion, Hekari will be stronger in attack.”
Meanwhile, the Papua New Guinea international said his aim was to win the title this season.
