IT was more than just rugby league for the Agmark Gurias yesterday as they commemorated the fight against TB by taking part in the annual TB Day walk.

The walk is aimed at bringing awareness about TB and the health services available to the public to combat this epidemic.

Despite the dawn downfall, the team donned their walkout shirts, banners, placards and set out on foot from Omorong to Kokopo market.

Members of the Gurias team campaigned against the killer disease.

Gurias head coach Michael Marum said, “the team has been a strong advocate in the past years by raising hospitals funds, for Vunapope and Nonga, and paying visits to the patients with gifts and food.

“This year is no exception, as we’re looking forward to supporting such community initiatives.”
