TWO hundred and forty-three people graduated at the International Education Agency College of Tafe last Friday.
It was a proud moment for graduates who received certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas after successfully completing their courses.
Keynote speaker, Kandep MP and T.H.E Party leader Don Polye, challenged the graduates to take the opportunity of the production of their hard work as the first step in their journey.
“Because having taken this step, having gained a qualification, you have the opportunity of a job but don’t stop there because your first job is just that,” he said.
Polye challenged them to think beyond that first job.
He said with hard work there was so much more that they could achieve for themselves and their families.
He said for the graduates the day was about using their new skills and training to improve and progress.
“Always remember life is full of opportunities,” he said.
He said as graduates they had seized the first of those opportunities.
Polye congratulated and encouraged them to aim high.
He told the students “because you all can achieve so much more”.
One graduate, Theresa Alisenia, said she was proud at having completed her studies and would be applying for a job this week. Students took IT, business administration, financial services, accounting and other courses.
