THE Credit Corporation Harlequins continued their perfect start to the Capital Rugby Union season with a 32-14 win over the Crusaders at Bava Park in Port Moresby on Saturday.
Harlequins coach Billy Rapilla said he was confident that his men would continue their momentum in the second half of the season.
“I’m proud of my younger boys in particular, it’s encouraging to see that we’ve got some depth in the club,” he said.
“It’s a blessing in disguise and today proved that our younger players can stick to the game plan and win the game.”
Despite their playmaker Royce Bua sustaining an arm injury in the first half, the Harlequins did not show any signs of slowing down throughout the match.
Rapilla said it was unfortunate and he hoped Bua would recover and feature again this season.
But he said the club had a lot of back-up players in the backline, so “we’ll see how we go in the coming weeks”.
“The main thing is that we’re trying to give everyone an opportunity to be committed to training and the game,” Rapilla said.
“That’s why we’re seeing the younger players step up and take more responsibility.”
