Halves not cutting it
AFTER watching last Sunday’s game against the third-placed Wynnum Manly Seagulls, I was very disappointed to see no leadership and direction from our halves and I thought the Seagulls defence was outstanding.
We need to get our spine working as a team in a coordinated and effective manner and our line speed needs to be much better.
Our guys simply couldn’t maintain the tempo from the first five or six minutes where we scored a try and actually looked good.
We gave away so many penalties and had too many handling errors especially from our senior players.
That was one of the worst efforts in terms of ball handling and penalties conceded at the NFS this year.

Hunters not the force they used to be
THE Hunters’ performance has dropped to below average in 2019.
The Hunters board should review the following:
1. Coach’s performance, his player management, methods, systems, etc …
2. Coaching staff performance, are they doing enough, are they effective on and off the field;
3. Players and their individual needs (it’s clear that several players need work on their individual skills, game awareness, defensive reliability, etc …)
The cause of the team’s poor performance needs to be identified and measures need to be taken to correct it. The Hunters are a brand and an institution but it is only as good as the results.
Something is wrong.
Everyone in the set up needs to have a long hard look at themselves and figure out what they can do to turn the season around.
All of them play a vital roles in keeping team/club morale up so they need to be wiser, smarter and work on solutions.
