School libraries across Huon Gulf, in Morobe, will see a boost to their book catalogue following a recent donation of 3,000 new library books, says a district official.
District education manager Sam Geseng and development partner Niugini Good Samaritan Foundation (NGSF), on Friday, received 80 cartons of library reading books from the Sir Brian Foundation (SBF).
Geseng said the 63 primary schools, three high schools and 105 elementary schools in Huon Gulf were fortunate to receive such assistance.
“We should be focusing on the future by improving the quality of learning among students,” he said.
“Schools around the country lack library books, this is an area that needs immediate support from the Government and partners.”
