Inquiry into loan deal resumes

THE Commission of Inquiry into the Union Bank of Switzerland loan deal resumed this week with the mention of all the deferred matters.
Chairman Sir Salamo Injia, in a statement, said the inquiry was deferred from March 23 following the state of emergency declaration.
Sir Salamo said the hearing this week would include compliance checks on previous directions issued for filing, list of witnesses and list and copies of documents and issue appropriate direction for those who had complied with those directives.
He said the inquiry would also fix fresh return dates for those witnesses who had not complied with directives.
The inquiry would review summons to witnesses and fix fresh dates for those appearing on summons.
