Investigate ABG reappointment

Letters

THE Bougainville senior appointment committee this week reappointed the current secretary for justice, Kenneth Nanei, for another five years after his term expired.
This reappointment of a very important public service position needs urgent investigation.
There are questions that need to be answered.
Why is this reappointment made at a time when a new government is about to run Bougainville?
Why did the Momis government rush to facilitate this five-year reappointment without advertising the position externally?
When Nanei’s term expired, why did the Momis government not make an acting appointment for three months only?
Based on whose advice did Momis acted on in reappointing the current secretary for another five years?
The new government needs to investigate this and review the whole appointment process of this senior position.
It is important that this senior position and other secretary positions be advertised externally to attract well-qualified candidates with master’s degrees than reappointing only first degree holders.
