Investigate govt official

Letters

THE alleged corruption of K2 million by the first assistant secretary for corporate affairs of National Planning (Loma Pamea) has been circulated in the social media for over a month.
It has not been investigated by the minister responsible Sam Basil or the police minister Brian Kramer.
This needs urgent investigation to determine whether the K2 million was spent on intended rehabilitation of Lamai Coffee plantation or misappropriated.
The most intriguing part is that the K2 million cheque was allegedly drawn on Dec 25, 2018 on Christmas day when the government books were closed.
How and why was the cheque drawn on the Christmas day?
Prime Minister James Marape emphasised about “Take back PNG”.
If his ministers and secretaries remain silent over such alleged corruption, then how you do expect to weed out corruption and “Take Back PNG?”
The department has allegedly awarded K1.2 million to Rupia Construction Company to build National Planning staff housing.
As per by the law, contracts above K500,000 should go through tender.
It is alleged that this was not done as Rupia construction company is allegedly owned by Tony Kondo who is Pamea’s in-law.
An investigation is needed into the alleged fizzy deals within the department.

  • Regarding the Lamami Plantation Rehabilitation, rumors are that the plantation is been negotiated for sales and that a potential buyer has already visited the plantation in disguise as an official. Someone from Asean decent.
Hope Loma is not involved in this as well.

    Cheers

  • The PM should have some idea on it since he was the Finance Minister. This needs to be checked and pin down all parties involved.
