Ipatas Cup quarterfinals deferred to tomorrow

The quarterfinal of the Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup NCD leg has been deferred to tomorrow at Kone Tigers Oval.
CCIC Southern region director Simon Maima said the games were deferred because most of the players had travelled to Goroka, Eastern Highlands, for the Super Nines and others were taking part in the Port Moresby Rugby League’s MRDC Nines competition.
Maimi said the gold pass would also be given out to the winning team to take part in the regional championship in Lae or Gororka in the following weekend.
“For the NCD leg, we have suspended QPR Wanderers because they have breached CCIC by-laws,” Maima said.
The CCIC NCD leg judiciary committee stripped the win from Wanderers and awarded it to M2.
Maima said QPR Wanderers had fielded an unregistered player during the elimination finals against M2 Mumuts last Sunday.
“Because Wanderers breached the by-laws of the CCIC tournament, we have decided to grant their win to the Mumuts,” Maima said.
