JIMI MP Wake Goi has allocated K20,000 for the construction of the 10km road from Emme River to Kupeng in the Lower Jimi.
Media officer Francis Nguna said funding for the road project would be released next month to start the construction.
The project is expected to relief the people in the area on the struggle to bring in supplies on foot to improve their living.
He said locals would build the road using gardening tools available and at the same time they would be paid for the work.
Goi also told his people to stay back in the district and cultivate their land.
He told them that unless they had a formal employment with the public or private sectors then, they should not waste their time in the towns or cities.
He told them that as their MP, he would try his best to bring much needed goods and service to them to improve their quality of living.
He also gave K5,000 each to the Kompiai and Kupeng clans in appreciation to the people who gave him food while staying in his electorate and cultivating his land.
