OPPOSITION Leader Belden Namah says Kagua-Erave MP Wesley Raminai was free to rejoin the Government.
Namah said it had become evident that one of the 56 MPs in Vanimo was planning to defect again.
“He was meant to go so he left. It’s not a worry to us,” Namah said.
“This camp is not about holding people back.
“This person was meant to go and he has gone.”
He said the alternative government was yet to decide on their nominee for prime minister.
Namah rejected claims that the Opposition MPs were being held against their will.
Namah alleged that the Government camp needed 11 police vehicles to escort back Raminai.
He questioned why the Government camp was holding back Nawaeb MP Kenedy Wenge.
“I don’t have police vehicles lined up outside to do all these,” he said.
“Eleven vehicles went to Raminai’s house where he got picked up so Marape should ask himself.”
Bulolo MP Sam Basil dismissed claims that they were being held against their will.
He said all the MPs were there willingly.
Meanwhile, the Opposition camp now has 55 MPs with the departure of Raminai and National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop still to confirm which camp to join.

  • I don’t want history to repeat…. Those so-called party leaders who have defected the Government do so with the intention merely to become the next Prime Minister and not to for the best interest of the country as they always claim. I see no potential in them…. the game is still on but bare this truth in mind that; ‘A BARKING DOG NEVER BITES.’ The Nation is watching and they heart is with PMJM so eventually the number from the Government side will increase and the Opps’ will cry foul…Let us wait and see.

  • Who is the PM nominee for the opposition team? Is it B. Namah?

If Namah doesn’t get it, he will breakaway.
