TEAM Papua New Guinea athlete Rellie Kaputin again brought her form to the fore at the Oceania Athletics Championships in Townsville yesterday as she took out the triple jump to add to her gold in the long jump.
The field included the top-two Australian triple jumpers, Ellen Pettitt and Aliyah Johnson.
Kaputin found herself in third place after four jumps.
Pettitt looked to have claimed old with a fifth-round jump of 12.94m, only to have it snatched from her by Kaputin who jumped 13.04m.
“The significance of her performances this week have not yet sunk in, but to win two championships competing against the best athletes from Oceania is truly remarkable,” Athletics PNG president Tony Green said in a statement.
