WOODS Kawage returns from injury and slots into the hooking role for the SP Hunters’ clash with ladder leaders Sunshine Coast Falcons in Brisbane, Australia, on Sunday.
Hunters assistant coach Roderick Puname said Kawage had been out for the past six weeks after fracturing his jaw while playing for Digicel Cup side Enga Mioks against the Rabaul Gurias in round seven on May 19.
“He replaces Patrick Morea who sustained a fractured right forearm during last Sunday’s loss to the Norths Devils,” Puname said ahead of their Queensland Intrust Super Cup round-17 fixture.
“Morea is expected to be out for at least six weeks.”
The final 18-man travelling side will be confirmed tomorrow. They leave for Brisbane on Saturday for the 2.35pm hit-out.
The team returns on Monday.
