Kimbe Teachers college opens lecture room

KIMBE Teachers College in West New Britain recently opened a new lecture room to provide a better learning environment for students.
Principal Ismael Leka said the lecture room was built at a cost of K47,000 which was from the K300,000 grant from the provincial government given last year.
“We are doing this to cater for the number of students who we currently have here and provide them a conducive learning environment.
“There is still a portion of the money that is still left so we are going to use it to upgrade the facilities even more,” Leka said.
“We are going to reorganise some areas so that we can have four lecture rooms.
“It will take some time for these new developments.”
Provincial executive council education services chairman Raphael Divu said more funding would be given to the education sector to improve the quality of education in the province.
“Education is not like other sectors because it is needed everywhere,” Divu said.
“It is very challenging to provide quality education because the increasing population affects service delivery.
“The provincial government is willing to work with those who will use the money wisely.
“We will build more infrastructure to create a conducive learning environment for the students in the province.
“I urge all those attending the college to take their studies seriously to become educators in the future.”
