LAE MP Loujaya Kouza says she is now even more popular after being sacked by the ruling People’s National Congress and is overly confident of retaining her seat in 2017.

She said the bad blood between the PNC and her began when she asked Prime Minister Peter O’Neill in Parliament recently why the one to two per cent of LNG proceeds was not given to the churches as per a Cabinet decision.

Kouza said she knew about the Cabinet decision as she was then a Cabinet Minister.

Opposition Leader Don Polye was also the then Treasurer.

“I wanted a public answer in a public domain,” she said. She said she was told in Parliament “to please stop misleading this Honorable House and the people of Papua New Guinea. There was no such decision. There was no such document”.

“I told God: I rest my case. That is why I am regarded as indecent (by the PNC).This is why I am regarded as disrespectful.”

Kouza said it was through God that she won the 2012 general election.

“That’s my indecency Papua New Guinea,” she said.

Kouza said she was also made a scapegoat on the Lae City Authority issue.
