Landowner issue

Letters

JUHA PDL 9 is mostly owned by Sinali tribes with the bulk of the population found in North Koroba, Hela.
During the Kokopo UBSA and LLBSA accord signed in 2009, it was identified and agreed that 98 per cent was owned by then Southern Highlands and 2 per cent by Western.
Since Hela is a new province, the 98 per cent is now owned by Hela with consideration given to the Sinali tribes of North Koroba as the rightful landowners.
Further to that, the Pembi 1 and Pembi 2 council wards are under North Koroba so as Topi 1 and Topi 2 council wards.
Thus, the clan-vetting exercise must be conducted in Koroba and not in Western.
Common sense must prevail here as 98 per cent of the landowners are in North Koroba.
Why waste time, effort and resources to bring the clan-vetting to Western?
People who have hijacked the due process to bring clan-vetting there should get their concerns correct.
Do what is right rather than being selfish or stubborn.
What criteria has been used to bring the clan-vetting there as Western provincial government owns only 2 per cent.
As soon as it is finalised, we may talk about Muruk 1 and 2 project developments, which are yet another new venture within the same area.
