FUZZY Wuzzy Rugby League Nines tournament heads into the final day of the regular round today, according to tournament director Manu Lofena.
The tournament, which started on Sunday, saw teams completing their second day fixtures yesterday with defending champions Laumas one banking two wins ahead of the finals tomorrow.
The Funeral Home-sponsored sides (team one and two) have put on entertaining football and look likely to make the cup playoffs.
Laumas one beat Koita Cowboys 8-4 on day one and backed that up with a 10-4 win over Lako seeing them top Pool F. Laumas two beat Royals 26-8 on Sunday and got past Miro Koivi Black 14-8 yesterday.
Laumas two lead Pool B with Siporo Magpies today’s fixture to decide the pool leader.
Lofena commended the teams for behaving professionally.
“There were no hiccups over the last two days of the tournament, everything like draws, game times everything went well,” Lofena said.
“We are looking forward for tomorrow’s game, which will be the final day for the regular round robin before our finals begin on Thursday.”
