Register schools: The supply of teachers each year in PNG is always below the required amount. Though the existing teachers’ colleges have the capacity to some extent to supply teachers, still there is a huge gap to meet the demand. To upgrade and expand the existing facilities would be one strategy to double/ triple enrolment. However, the quality supplied would be questionable unless appropriate skills are not applied. Establishing new teaching colleges in PNG is one of the proponents to at least meet the required ceiling of teachers in PNG. The Education Department should register newly established teachers’ colleges that meet the accreditation requirements in no time that the huge demand for teachers in PNG is addressed.
