Lewas given hefty boost by City Pharmacy

THE City Pharmacy Group of Companies support women’s in sports in Papua New Guinea.
This was the message from CPL managing director Mahesh Patel, pictured, during the sponsorship of K200, 000 with women’s cricket recently.
“We started our partnership in 2016- 18 with K200, 000 annually totalling K600, 000 for the PNG CPL Lewas who have done extremely well so far”.
Patel said the firm also backs the Rebels Netball Club with K25, 000 who participates in the Port Moresby Netball Association.
“I believe through our partnership with Cricket PNG, City Pharmacy PNG Lewas have been doing well with the following achievements:
As an exciting dynamic team ranked 1st in the East Asia Pacific (EAP) Region, 10 part-time contracted athletes who are role models for their communities” he said.
“In 2018 Australian Cricket Championships with eight Lewas selected in East Asia Pacific Team and also won the past two ACCC Women’s divisions, 2018 Lewas Victorian Tour, 2018 ICC WW T20 Qualifiers — Netherlands in June City Pharmacy Lewas to play against seven other countries and Top 2 qualify for 2018 ICC WWT20, 2018 SACA.
“Lewas play against South Australian teams and against Women’s Big bash players, participating in Cricket Australia’s Women’s Big Bash and New Zealand Cricket Domestic Cricket” Patel
“With that, we hope to see more women and girls participate in the development pathway programs and competitions with the aim of identifying potential and raw talents to be ‘future Lewas’.
