HAGEN Two Investment, a business arm of the Hagen rural local level government, has been given a new truck by Hagen MP William Duma to collect rubbish from the city market.

Duma urged his Jika and Moge tribesmen to stop collecting fees from the market vendors.

“I appeal to my people not to call themselves landowners when moving around in Hagen city and harassing innocent people,” he said.

He told them that the city was on state land.

Duma said he wanted to see the city cleaned up starting at the market.

Police have been told arrest anyone creating problems at the main market.

“I want you people to take pride in the market because this is the best market in the country,” he said.

He also commended deputy governor and Hagen rural local level government Wai Rapa for looking after the people’s assets.

He said former council presidents and board of directors of the WampNga group of companies, a business arm of Nebilyer, Anglimp and Hagen rural local level governments, sold many properties at very low prices.

“This is not happening now under the leadership of Rapa,” he said.

Rapa told the people to respect the market because farmers in the province use it to sell their produce.

He thanked Duma for donating the truck, which would be used to collect rubbish at the market every week and keep the market clean and tidy.
