A PROMINENT businessman has commended a tribe in the Western Highlands for allowing peace to prevail following the killing of a man last weekend.

Kekam Car Rental and PT Trucking firm owner Paul Tai commended the Yamka Pepka tribe on Tuesday while attending a funeral service for a primary school teacher, Joseph Terema, who died in a car accident last Saturday.

“You didn’t retaliate to the unnatural deaths, you have allowed peace to prevail and set a precedent for others to follow,” Tai said.

“I am giving credit to the Yamka Pepka people for not taking the law into their hands. You have allowed peace and other people will follow your example.”

He said the people of Yamka Pepka had a good reputation and they lived by showing good examples to others.

Tai said their good behaviour had resulted in business activities  flourishing in their area.
