ACTING chief secretary Isaac Lupari has submitted required documents to the Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the Union Bank of Switzerland loan deal.
COI chairman Sir Salamo Inija confirmed that Lupari, through his counsel Nicholas Tame, had complied with directions.
Sir Salamo told the inquiry that arrangements were now in place for those witnesses who had compiled documents so far, the counsels and solicitors would sit down with them to discuss the evidence.
He told the commission that Lupari would have to wait for the admission of overseas counsels and solicitors to the National Court.
Tame said that Lupari was not around at the time of the negotiations for the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC) loan but the UBS loan.
“My client was a private citizen at the time of the negotiations for IPIC,” Tame said.
Sir Salamo directed that Lupari provide any outstanding documents before 9.30am on July 6.
The matter was adjourned to July 6 for Lupari to confer with counsel and solicitors assisting the commission if there was evidence.
Sir Salamo said the revised road map for the commission would be formally announced on July 6.
