A 47-YEAR-OLD man who was rearrested last year for an attempted murder case in 2016 appeared before Waigani Committal Court Magistrate Tracy Ganaii on Friday.
Redmond Godara of Karute village in Yoma, Northern, was charged in 2016 for attempted murder but the case was struck out due to no police file.
Magistrate Ganaii told police prosecutor Sgt Joseph Sangam to check the investigating officer and to make sure that the file was served to the court.
“Find out what is really going on with this case, the complainants reported this case in 2016 and nothing was done.
“They reported the case again last year and the accused was rearrested. By now the files should be ready,” she said.
Prosecutor Sangam said he would find out and get the files ready by March 27.
It was alleged that on Feb 17, 2016, at Hohola 5 in Port Moresby at around 9pm, Godara and his in-laws got into an argument about a fight in front of Godara’s house with complainants Peter Oa, John Puha, Taita Arua and Peter Oa Jr.
