Moresby South Rugby League denies claim

Moresby South Rugby League (MSRL) chairman Brown Murema has denied claims that the league owes K32,000 to Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League (PNGRFL).
He said the league had been a Southern Confederate affiliate since 2014.
“Compliance is our foremost priority. We pay player registration fees, hold annual general meetings (AGMs), host competitions for men, women and Under-20s, and complete our season with grand finals,” Murema said last week.
“We have been doing this for six years since the inception of our league to ensure the right procedures are followed. We are looking forward to a new season.
“According to my records, MSRL does not owe any amount as claimed in a media report.
“Any monies raised have to be put forward for PNGRFL-sanctioned programmes as an affiliate.
“We as an affiliate pay so much in player registration fees to carry out confederate programmes but we get nothing as subsidies for them.”
He questioned why confederate director Gwaibo Mairi had come out with the information on the eve of the PNGRFL AGM
The AGM will be held at the Oil Search National Football Stadium in Port Moresby on Saturday.
