Megusa hunt down Rats in Morata league playoffs

MEGUSA scored two converted tries to beat Waigani Rats 12-8 in round one of the Motor Vehicles Insurance Limited Morata Offseason Rugby League A-Grade playoffs at the Kone Tigers Oval in Port Moresby on Saturday.
Both sides scored two tries each but Megusa converted both tries.
Megusa’s tries were scored by Isaac David and Nathan Px while Rats’ points came from Robert Koava. Megusa, who led 6-4 at the interval, were the better side and capitalised on the opposition’s ordinary defence to gain yardage and maintain momentum throughout the match. In the other playoff, Northern Warriors edged Kong Rats 4-0, thanks to an unconverted try by Kerry Emande.
In the women’s semifinals, Freeway Magani beat JV Bulldogs. M3 Bulldogs won on forfeit against 38 Jets.
