THE National Fisheries Authority (NFA) booked a spot in the grand final and the Works Department survived elimination with a 22-14 win over the National Housing Corporation (NHC) in the Public Servants Netball Association premier division at the Rita Flynn Indoor Complex on Saturday.
Works now face National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) in the preliminary final on Saturday.
NHC are out of the premiership campaign. NBC lost to NFA 21-23 in the major semifinal.
NFA will face the winners of the encounter between NBC and Works.
Works, with the inclusion of experience campaigner Kimberly Alex, goal defender Lama Lua and wing attack Ati Rawali, set the pace and linked up well to dominate the opposition.
Alex chipped in 19 points.
NHC shooters Ravu Renagi (nine), Ulice Rova (three) and Kalia Alu (two) had Lua and Kevau Oakiva breathing down their necks for most of the match.
Maila Nouairi, Roselyn Kada and Delly Raepom were off the mark, which did not help their shooters.
Meanwhile, NFA came from behind with two minutes remaining and down in the final stanza to secure victory.
NBC were leading by four points when silly errors saw the opposition surge ahead to claim victory.
NFA were leading 12-8 at the break only for NBC to steal the show midway through but silly errors denied them the first grand-final berth.
NBC veteran and coach Lilian Yaruso was disappointed with her charges for not closing out the win when they were leading.
“We gave the game away in the last two minutes with five errors. The opposition capitalised on those errors to beat us.
“But having said that, it’s not over for us as we have to work harder against Works in the preliminary final. Hopefully, we can secure the last grand-final berth.”
