THE selection of Butler Morris rugby union convert Morris into the PNG Hunters team is unfair and sends the wrong signals to the rugby league fraternity. No doubt Morris is a class player and will eventually earn his selection into the Hunters Squad, but he should be allowed to play first at the local Lae Rugby League Competition or in the Digicel Cup competition before been drafted into the Hunters Team. It is a slap in the face for many up and coming players who have committed and sacrificed themselves in the Digicel Cup Competition just to earn a spot in the Hunters squad. On the same note, rugby league is fortunate to have a quality player like Morris and a loss for rugby union, therefore league administrators should ensure that players of such calibre are renumerated and looked after accordingly and not rushed into competition without proper preparation.
