Mosa soccer season begins

THE Mosa Soccer League in Kimbe, West New Britain, started its season last weekend.
The league began its season in an effort to raise the standard of soccer in the country, and continue its aim of getting youths involved in sporting activities.
League president Andrew Henry said the turnout over the weekend was good.
He said the season would last between four and five months.
He said only six premier men’s team competed in the preseason over the last three weeks, but the number had increased.
Henry said men, women and youngsters were keen to take part in the competition.
“In the preseason, we had six premier men’s teams,” he said.
“But now, we have 39 teams across all divisions.
“The season started on Sunday and the turnout was good, and participation by the teams was quite well.
“The competition will run for between four and five months.
“We will have two rounds of competition for each divisions.
“We are trying to improve the level of soccer in the league.
“So that we can have a tough competition.
“We have nine teams for the A-league men, eight for premier men, another eight for premier women, six for the Under-17 boys and eight for the U10 divisions.”
