MP must remove unproductive electoral officers

The National, Tuesday December 16th, 2014

I AGREE with the letters in The National published separately on Dec 4 and 8 stating that Moresby North West MP Michael Malabag has failed to provide the vital services in his electorate.

There are hardly any vital services in the electorate to show off his achievements since he became the MP.

The public cannot see any signs of developments like cutting of ribbons to launch a particular service as the Port Moresby South and Port Moresby North East MPs are doing in their electorates. Malabag has done nothing compared to the two Moresby MPs.

After Sir Mekere Morauta resignation as the Port Moresby North West MP, in 2012, K12million for development purposes was in the electorate account. In 2013 and this year K10 million each was provided through the district service improvement program. Where have all these money gone to?

In addition, we have claims on informal payments for 2012, 2013 and 2014 yet to be done and 2015 is just around the corner. What is Malabag going to do about it?

We think that Malabag’s electoral officers are the ones failing him though he is well known and most highly talked about. They have been operating under the trees during official hours instead of the electoral office.

Enough is enough, get rid of your unproductive officers because they are the ones restricting service delivery to your people.
