Namah calls for immediate arrest of cop killers

OPPOSITION Leader Belden Namah wants police Comm David Manning to arrest cop killers immediately.
Namah told a press conference in Port Moresby yesterday that Manning should stop calling for the death penalty and start doing his job.
“Manning should use all the resources available to him as the Comm of police to investigate and bring in the killers of constable Timot Kavanamur to justice.”
“Our problem is not the law, we have laws already in place, our problem lies in executing arrests and holding perpetrators accountable for their crimes,” Namah said.
“Kavanamur is not the only one, Sgt Philip Hewali, who was killed in Koroba, MS 06 members Jimmy Galang and Alex Kopa, and the officer killed in Madang.
“Police personnel risk their lives every day to ensure the laws of this country is maintained and we cannot just continue to stand and watch as these cop killers walk away free.”
Namah said even the perpetrators, who massacred women and children in Tari Pori, had not yet been arrested.
“So I call on the commissioner to stop calling for death penalty and do what he is supposed to do and go out and hunt those criminals.
“They must be held accountable, because if they do not have respect for police officers, then they will not have respect for ordinary citizens of this country.”
Namah commended the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary for their good job in holding rogue police officers accountable.
“I am very glad to see a number of police officers been disciplined, taken to court or even sacked.”

  • Impose death sentence on ALL killers NOT cops killers only.
Otherwise they stop killing cops and go crazy on killing ordinary citizens.
All killers and rapists alike MUST face the death sentence, lets see some ACTION now please.
Talks have been on going with NO action….result more killings today.

  • Death penalty should be imposed on all killers or have them sentenced for life year. Taking a persons life is a high offence for which the perpetrator should be dealt with heavily. Otherwise, killers don’t deserve to live.
