Naru urges Morobeans to venture into businesses

 MOROBE Governor Kelly Naru is encouraging people in the province to participate in business.

“I want to leave office a satisfied man knowing that I created millionaires and billionaires out of Morobeans,” he said.

Naru said during the signing of a project funding agreement between the Sustainable Development Program, Morobe provincial administration, Nawaeb district and Neknasi coffee growers cooperative society in Lae on Wednesday. 

He said it was part of his government’s policy.

A total K1.6 million will go to Neknasi with the provincial government going kina for kina with the society’s own contribution of K400,000. 

“My government is all about creating opportunities and encouraging meaningful participation by local Morobe people in commerce and industry.

“We have done enough talking in the past, lets walk the talk from here on,” Naru said.

PNGSDP agriculture programme manager Potaisa Hombunaka urged more cooperation on agricultural initiatives in the province.

“Cooperation and a supportive political leadership is the way forward in any initiative,” he said .
