A TEAM from the Port Moresby Nature Park’s marketing and communications department has returned from visiting zoos in Victoria, Australia.
The visit was to give the staff some ideas on how to deliver new programmes and events for the park in the next two years.
The trip was part of a sister-zoo partnership with Zoos Victoria that the park has enjoyed since 2013.
Through the partnership, more than 30 workers from both sites had participated in staff exchange programmes.
The team from Nature Park was given the opportunity to learn about the campaigns and conservation programmes delivered by Zoos Victoria’s three zoos – Werribee Open Range Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary and Melbourne Zoo.
Zoos Victoria’s manager for international conservation Chris Banks said everyone at Zoos Victoria was delighted to welcome the Port Moresby Nature Park marketing team. “The visit was another wonderful example of the sharing of staff expertise and passion that is the hallmark of the Zoos Victoria – Port Moresby Nature Park sister-zoo partnership.”
The Nature Park is a non-profitable organisation dependent on the funding support of the National Capital District Commission, the business community and members of the public who visit it.
