NAZARENE church’s Jiwaka North District Women’s Ministry groups are gathering in Kondopina in Western Highlands for their second women’s convention.
Group president Rosen Kiap said men should always treat their wives as equal partners.
The convention started on Monday and will end on Friday.
Five councillors of the Kinjibi-Mala local level government welcomed the women.
Council president Rodney Rot Kur said women played an important role in the family, church and society and they should be respected and appreciated as equal partners for integral human development.
“We are very privileged to have this special gathering hosted here by the Nazarene women’s ministry from the Kimil-Dei circuit,” he said.
“This week-long convention has provided us insights into the important role women play so that we never take them for granted.
“I appeal to men and boys out there to treat our women and girls with respect and love them for who they are.”
