THE National Capital District Football Association will begin its season at Sir John Guise Stadium this weekend.
Occupying two fields, the PNG Football Stadium and the Multi-Purposes Oval, NCDFA president Vonnie Kapi Natto said she was looking forward to an exciting season. With the inclusion of Central’s Amoana, Kempa and Madang’s Kalibobo, the race for the title is wide open.
Kapi Natto said the quality of football displayed by the three teams during the southern conference sevens soccer competition would surely give established teams such as FC Wantok, SOG FC and Tarangau a run for their money. “We’ve retained all the teams from last year,” she said.
Amoana and Kempa will use the season to prepare for the National Premier League, club championships and the national sevens soccer championships.
Kapi Natto said it was every team’s aim to beat competition heavyweights FC Wantoks.
FC Wantoks have also prepared well by recruiting several players from the sevens tournament
NCDFA has teams taking part in A-League, B-League, division one and U17.
NCDFA Teams: Kalibobo, Valley Strikers, FC Wantoks, Amoana, POM Souths, Kempa, Murat, Tarangau, SOG, ITI Musa.
