WITH Port Moresby Women Rugby league competition nearing the end of half of its season there is hope left for Souths as they take on the Kone Storm to try win their first match this weekend.
Souths are winless so far this season and remain rooted to the bottom of the ladder on zero points.
The Storm have a solitary win so far this season and are in 12th place on the ladder.
“Souths were strong last year but have had a bad start to this season because of some internal issues and they are struggling,” PRL football coordinator John Muave said.
“This year, the team is made up of young school girls with ages ranging from 16 to 18-years-old.
“I believe they might come up but it may take a while for them to adjust and catch up with other teams as they still have a game to win,” Muave said.
Fixtures: Fri, June 1 – Paga Panthers v Kone Tigers, Sisters v Hawks; Sat, June 2 – Souths v Kone Storm, Dobo Warriors v Magani, West v Butterflies.
