THE Papua New Guinea Netball Federation has designed programmes to build the capacity of its technical officials.
President Julienne Leka-Maliaki said the start of the programmes next month would include coaches, umpires and bench officials.
The programme is for six months with all affiliates are expected to benefit.
Funded by the AusAid, PNG Netball has targeted schools with coaching clinics throughout the country in its bid to build capacity in volunteers and trainers.
Maliaki said the accredited trainers would be dispatched to strategic locations to start the programmes.
These include up to four days of theory and practical sessions in umpiring and coaching.
“The training will see coaches, umpires and bench officials certified under PNG Netball’s accreditation framework which leads onto international accreditation sanctioned by the Oceania and International Federation,” Maliaki said.
She said the programme was in line with the code’s strategic plan under the game development programme.
Affiliates were encouraged to contact netball federation for further information.
