LINK PNG, a subsidiary of Air Niugini, will start its commercial passenger flights to Komo airport in Hela on Nov 19.
The flight will operate twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday, departing Port Moresby at 10.15am and arriving in Komo at 11.45am.
The return flight leaves Komo at 12.10pm and arrives in Port Moresby around 1.40pm.
It will use Link PNG’s 50-seat Dash 8-315 aircraft.
Link PNG general manager Bruce Alabaster said tickets for the Komo flight were already on sale at Air Niugini sales offices.
He said check-in for flights from Komo would be done at Komo Station.
“Only passengers with valid tickets will be issued boarding passes and then transported by bus to Komo Airport.
“Nobody can check-in directly at Komo Airport.
Likewise arriving passengers will be transported to Komo station to collect their bags.”
