TONNY Kaure is dedicating his life to God and will serve as a missionary until he dies.
“I love my God and I will serve him during my life until he calls me.”
Tonny, 45, is a members of the Association of Local Church based in Kerevat, Gazelle, East New Britain. He is originally from Kai village in Chilanga, Central Nakanai in West New Britain.
He is the third eldest of seven siblings. Their parents have passed away.
Tonny started his primary education at the Chilanga Community School in 1982 and completed Grade Six in 1987.
He was then accepted at the Bialla High School where he did Grade Seven in 1988 and completed Grade 10 in 1991.
“After completing Grade 10, I did not get any offer to continue with my education. So to look for job and education opportunities, I came to Rabaul in January 1994.”
He looked around for jobs or education opportunities but did not find anything.
“I was unlucky not to find a job or a space in any private school in ENB.”
In September 1994, when the twin volcano eruptions took place, Tonny feared for his life and left Rabaul. He ended up at the Tavilo plantation in Kerevat. He was offered a job as a labourer with the PNG Coconut and Cocoa Research Institute.
While working there, he joined a church group. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour and committed his life to God.

In 1995, Tonny was baptised and started attending fellowships. He became a member of the Kevera ALC church.
In 2015, he attended the Bulolo Impact Bible College in Lae and completed the course on Dec 21 of that year.
In March 2016, the Kevera church elders sent him to relieve a pastor at the Chilanga ALC church in WNB.

“ I will serve God as long as I live.”

After his stint with the church in Chilanga in 2018. He was transferred to the Lavege church in Hoskins, Nakanai.
In December last year, he returned to the Kevera church.
This year, church elders decided to send him to Jimi in Jiwaka. Last month, they held a commissioning service for Tonny prior to his departure for Jimi.
Tonny has no plans to get married and starting a family because he wants to dedicate his life to his missionary work, especially to the Lord Jesus Christ who he wants to serve until he dies.
His advice to young people is to give their lives to Jesus Christ as through Him they will find peace, happiness, and the true meaning of life.
The words of Jesus (Matthew 28:19) drive Tonny on: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
Tonny is determined to serve the people in Jimi and anywhere else as a missionary “as long as I live”.
