Not fair to criticise Kumuls who are not pros

Letters, Normal

THE Kumuls have been heavily criticised for their poor performance in the on-going Four Nations tournament.
While the team may lack everything in rugby league, they left something for other teams to remember – their hard-hitting tackles.
We must not jump to conclusion based on the results.
We must remember that many of our players are not professionals.
We play because we love the game.
Papua New Guineans are naturally talented with hidden potential and it takes a right person to build and condition the players.
Many countries know that and that is why they do not want to provide us with technical assistance and coaching.
They want to see us rated lower than them so they can continue their dominance.
As such, full credit must go to former coach Adrian Lam for developing players both mentally and physically.
