THE Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League will open its transfer window on Sunday, allowing clubs to sign players from other sides in the competition, according to an official.
Assistant competition manager Micah Kaneng told The National yesterday that clubs were allowed a maximum of three new players.
He said the transfer window would close next Friday.
“A notice was sent out to all the franchises to prepare their documentations for players who will be joining them,” Kaneng said.
“As per the regulations, the window will be open for seven days which is enough time for player transfers before we kick off our round-10 fixtures.
“All clubs are allowed to recruit a maximum of three players from other franchises and not exceeding that.”
The transfer window may be of advantage and disadvantage to the clubs, he said.
For the club that could lose players, Kaneng said they had the opportunity to sign replacements from other franchises.
“The teams that lose their players can always look to other clubs for replacements,” he said.
“That is the ruling and I am only here to ensure that things are done properly during the transfer window.”
Competition leaders Hekari United and defending champions Lae City will have the opportunity to bolster their rosters.
