OIL Search Ltd has been talking to people about addressing violence against women and girls.
On Friday, staff of Oil Search and other companies staged an annual walk in Port Moresby to highlight the message.
General manager, PNG stakeholder engagement, Leon Buskens said Oil Search was committed to maintaining their response to family and sexual violence.
“Not only is it good for the community but also for business and the nation as a whole. 2017 has seen the death and torture of too many women and this is unacceptable,” he said.
The annual walk is to showcase the company’s commitment to these issues which are grounded in its five-year Women’s Protection and Empowerment strategy driven by the Oil Search Foundation.
Next year, the foundation will continue to build on this work and invest in responding to family and sexual violence.
