THE Ok Tedi Development Foundation Ltd (OTDF) has introduced a programme that will reward its employees and encourage them to perform better.

The awards are given quarterly which will be known as the “quarter award” and the “encouragement award”.

The first two award recipients were Joyce Kelly, an administration assistant with OTDF’s engineering department and Ivan Kombong, an agriculture officer with the company’s regional development team.

Kelly, from the Olsobip district of Western, was given the encouragement award for her determination to improve her performance over the past 12 months since joining OTDF.

“Being the first recipient of this award, it really means a lot to me.

“I am very thankful to the management team for their consideration and support towards this,” she said.

Meanwhile Kombong, who conducts agriculture extension projects in the community mine continuation agreement villages of the South Fly region, received the staff quarterly award.

“Having to cover 66 villages every year is not an easy task and to receive such recognition is a big pat on my back,” he said.

Both awardees received-brand new digital cameras and recognition certificates.

OTDF chief operation officer Geoffrey Fahey said the awards follow a rigorous selection before they are given away.
