THE three elected Gulf leaders have promised to work together and look at people’s interest first.
The MPs – Gulf Governor Chris Haiveta, Kikori MP Soroi Eoe and Kerema MP Thomas Opa – declared their loyalty to serve the people.
Opa said the Kikori and Kerema MPs would work in unity and solidarity with Governor Chris Haiveta, for the next five years.
“This new mandate represents a time for all of us to re-focus, re-energise and re-strategise our vision and plans for Gulf Province,” he said.
“There has been so many negative things said about Gulf Province and we need to change this narrative, this perception and all the negative things that were being said about us.
“Let’s all put aside our differences and from this day on, work together to promote and protect the welfare of our people and add value to our people’s lives,” he said.
Opa said Gulf was very fortunate to have two senior leaders –Haiveta and Soroi Eoe.
“Haiveta remains a key figure in the Marape-Rosso Government and Soroi Eoe is a senior leader of the Papuan Region in the current care-taker government as well.”
