THE Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary Traffic Division in Lae, Morobe, has received a computer set donated by the Papindo group of companies.
Company national operations manager Jacki Lew said the donation was to help make the job of traffic officers easier when they were filing reports.
“Papindo does business but we give back to the community and the donation of this computer will be helpful in making work easier for traffic officers,” Lew said.
Snr Insp Ben Neneo thanked Papindo on behalf of his officers, traffic officers and metropolitan commander Supt Nema Mondiai for the donation.
On hand to receive the computer were officer in charge of traffic Snr Insp Jimmy Yaring and second in charge Sgt Varo Raga.
“This is not the first time that Papindo Group has assisted the police and we are mindful of the company’s efforts to help us,” Neneo said.
He said even though Lae was the second largest city in the country, many officers were still using typewriters to prepare court files and other documentations.
“This computer will help police personnel in the documentation of papers to the courts and I am appealing to my
officers to look after it.”
