Paradise Beverages puts PNG on Pepsi world map

PARADISE Beverages has put Papua New Guinea on the world Pepsi ranking as one of the top five Pepsi manufacturing sites in the region.
Paradise Beverages is the manufacturer of brands such as Pepsi, 7UP, Mountain Dew, Mirinda Orange, and Tru Tru Wara.
Established five years ago, Paradise Beverages was audited in Oct 2018, scoring 97 per cent to meet PepsiCo quality assurance systems requirements.
It meets AIB International food safety inspection requirements and received the global award last month.
It was among the top five out of a total of 21 manufacturing sites within the region.
Over the years, Paradise Beverages has focused on quality and food safety requirements, resulting in the plant achieving food safety inspection certification last month.
“The dedicated hard work by the staff at Paradise Beverages helped us achieve this outstanding result,” Paradise Foods general manager manufacturing Glenn Peiris said.
“The auditors commented that Paradise Beverages were demonstrating the world’s best practice in their processing and were better than most of the other Pepsi manufacturing sites within the region.”
Peiris said the food safety inspection was rigorous in that production equipment had to be dismantled for hygiene inspection and gaskets in product contact equipment assessed for wear and tear.
Chief executive Michael Shields attributed the success to staff.
Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) was also recertified at both Paradise Foods’ manufacturing sites in 2018.
HACCP is a globally recognised standard adopted in over 150 countries, ensuring a consistent approach to food safety.
There are seven globally recognised principles, ranging from conducting hazard analysis to establishing control limits to monitoring and record keeping.
HACCP certification means that Paradise operates a food safety process control system that is internationally acknowledged.
“Food safety is an ongoing part of manufacturing,” Shields said.
“The staff at Paradise are immensely proud of their achievement and are always motivated to produce the best range of biscuits, snacks and beverages possible.
