THE Gazelle district administration and the East New Britain Savings and Loan Society have started a school fees loan subsidy scheme from a K300,000 funding.
It was witnessed by officers from the society and its board members.
Board member Sir Sinai Brown welcomed the partnership with the district administration.
“The ENBSL believes that a person who has savings is confident of making financial decisions to enhance his livelihood and encourage his children pursue their dreams through education,” he said. “We encourage parents who are not members of ENBSL to take advantage of this opportunity and open an account with the society to ensure your children get the best education.”
He explained that a lending policy was already in place approved by the board as a guide on the loan scheme.
Sir Sinai said the loan scheme for 2020 was timely as the country struggled financially.
The funds will be managed by the society to roll out the school fee programme as loans to the people.
