THE Papua New Guinea Football Association (PNGFA) has joined forces with the Soka PNG magazine as part of an effort to commercialise the sport in the country.
PNGFA president John Kapi Natto said the partnership with the bi-monthly magazine would help improve coverage for a greater audience.
“Such a partnership will remain a legacy in bringing in income for football and it’s a win-win situation for all of us that we want to see grow,” he said.
“We can take football right throughout the country and people want to read about football.
“PNGFA has a lot of products and a lot of stories and this is a way forward for generating revenue for the sport’s national governing body.”
Soka PNG publisher Roger Mirupasi said the magazine was the first of its kind in the country in response to the growing interest in football.
“PNGFA has done the right thing to commercialise the game for us to come on board and partner with this magazine so that we can drive the message of football in a different way,” he said.
“Soka PNG is part of how we love football and we would like to continue this partnership.
“Football is big everywhere and this is the right direction to bring football to fans and players everywhere in the country.”
